April stuff and more stuff!!!

Sometimes I want to show that I'm a regular person but it never quite turns out the way I planned but who cares? Here are a few pics for those not following me on all channels.

I went on a brief hiatus to spend spring break with my son, also pictured are my nephew and niece... 

Ended March with a show at Club Xcite in Mobile AL!

Began April by jumping on the megabus for the first time and hitting up the Laughing Skull's open mic! It's been awesome, in fact right now I'm on the return trip to The Gulf Coast. 

Hey I'm on quite a few great shows coming up! You want to make them all!

Hey March is like almost over and stuff...

Hey! Update for the month, there's not much to say. I'm on a brief hiatus just enjoying hanging out with the family and reassessing my goals and such. The comedy shows start up again for me at the end of the month with a trip to MS and a couple in Mobile. April already has quite a few dates booked in it so I'm excited about that, one of which is the MEGABUS trip I've been wanting to take for years! Yes I've been planning on taking a $8 trip to Atlanta for multiple years and I am finally, just now able to pull it off. Screw you! I'm stoked about it, totally! Even though it's just for an open mic, it's just an open mic I've been wanting to do for like 4 years! 

Also I've invested quite a bit in my A/V capability and will be able to showcase the efforts sooner than later. NEW SHORTS! maybe a new "Alfred Reads the News" video, we'll see.

The January Show with Homegrown Comedy in Huntsville AL was great! It was a sold out show with around 350 people in the theater and everyone just slayed onstage, it was exciting to say the least.  My friends in Huntsville showed up in numbers as well, I had an article in the newspaper, which reran in the Mobile paper a few days later. Yeah I didn't know what to do with myself. Combine that with being interviewed on the street by fox news about my opinion on Alabama getting a lottery and I was just all over the place in January.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Back to lower Alabama and the Gulf Coast I was on a couple great shows at Comedy Whatever and Fancy Comedy. We always have fun!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Coming up tonight 2-7-2014 I'll be guest hosting Friday Night Comedy in Pensacola FL. We're going to have a great time and then on Saturday 2-8-2014 I'll be opening up for Comedy Whatever as a Jew and a Black Guy returns to Mobile's Alchemy Tavern for what's always an awesome show!

 

 

 

Later this month February 16th through 19th I'll be taking a trip through the great state of Louisiana. I'll have more on that later, but I hope to stop through New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Hammond, then back to Baton Rouge. Stay tuned for more info on that itinerary. Until then here's more news on Pensacola Shows! I'll close out this month in Pensacola featuring for Top Notch Comedy at Hopjacks (which I attended the first show and it was packed! It's a really good spot for comedy and I can't wait to hit the mic) and I'll play the role of feature at Friday Night Comedy at the Big Easy when a Jew and a Black Guy headlines there. Of course there are many open mics that I plan to visit and have visited so far this year, now that's where you'll find me!

2014 happenings!

So far so good in 2014. The Huntsville show was awesome! I was on a Friday Night Comedy Show at the Big Easy, I have a show tonight for Comedy Whatever, and a Fancy Comedy show at the end of the month.

From Alfred Ward... 2013 It's a Wrap! Here Comes 2014!!!

So 2013 is ending well,  I survived a pretty bad car accident after leaving a show a couple weeks ago with no injuries, but it really let me know that I do have to take better care of myself. Over working yourself with little sleep and poor nutrition isn't good for anyone. I can't believe that I'm in my 30's and I'm still trying to convince myself to follow my own advice, sheesh. Outside of that this month has been awesome! For most of the first half of the month I served as the AD/PA/Craft Services/Transportation/AC (Maybe) on a film production with Burning Mirror Films. Honestly I was in waaay over my head but I managed to get though it and not stress out a lot. I can't say that I learned a lot about shooting a film from the cinematographer's point of view, but I do have an appreciation for the planning phase and people/resource management needed to pull something like that off smoothly and I'll be even more ready for the next project.

In stand up all month has been solid. I got to share that stage with Alex Koll in a Fantastic show at Comedy Whatever at the Alchemy Tavern, a great guy and a great comedian. Honestly I'm still just glad to be part of shows, any show headliner or not, you can ask me for 5 minutes or 30 minutes, I don't mind. It's not that I don't think I'm any good, or that I don't care, I just can't believe it. It's all still unreal to me.

Oh yeah I have a show lined up in Huntsville Alabama on 1/10/2014, I lived in that city for over 11 years so it'll be fun to get back up there for a while. If I leave early enough maybe I'll get to stop by Birmingham or sneak away to Nashville as well for a night. That's all wishful thinking for right now, just stay tuned in case it happens and I'll announce it. Hopefully I'll get a couple mini tours together next year and get to hit up a few more stages, then things may become a bit more real to me, until then I'll see you at the open mics!

November to December in the Life of Ward

Whoa I just realized I hadn't blogged in quite a while. I had an awesome time on 11/16 and I have two more shows coming up for this year. Outside of that I've been hitting open mics like crazy. Don't get it twisted folks, I'm an open mic kinda guy. My next two shows are great lineups, I can't wait to share the stage this weekend with an awesome bunch and close out my year with a huge show on 12/14 and get ready for 2014... There maybe a surprise in December, I'll keep you posted!

 

 

 

October 2013 Baby! Headlining, TAG, Working with A Jew and a Black Guy twice!

 October has been fun so far, I opened for a Jew and a Black Guy down in Perdido Key FL, filled in at Comedy Whatever due to a cancellation, rocked the mic at TAG for the first time in months, ended up headlining about a week later in Orange Beach at Happy Harbor due to a tropical storm delay, and now this weekend I'm featuring on a show with A Jew and a Black Guy again LOL. However this time it's in Mobile AL at Comedy Whatever at the Alchemy Tavern. I wonder if I should dust off my material about needing a Jewish woman in my life. Preferably a Jewish MILF. Only time will tell.

I'm on four awesome up coming comedy shows!

I don't really know what to say besides I'm totally humbled. I have four shows lined up and here are the flyers for them. I'll announce them all again later, but for now WOW! Fun times ahead folks. Perdido Key FL 10/4 @ The Jellyfish Bar, 10/5 @ The Wharf in Gulf Shores AL, 10/16 @ Alchemy in Mobile, & 11/16 back @ Alchemy! Just Wow! I love you guys and gals!
